We are happy to report that our Orlando 2019 PPA Conference was a tremendous success! Held at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort, we had a record 120 attendees for the three-day event. Excellent presentations were given by the top names in periodic paralysis, including Drs.Jack Tarleton, Todd Bell, Stephen Lewis, Steve Cannon, William Catterall, Sub Subramony, and our own Jacob Levitt. Interesting sessions on PTSD were delivered by Anne Bealke and Amy Shuman.
We were delighted to welcome Canine Companions for Independence, who explained what a service dog can do for you! Also present were our corporate partners, Strongbridge Biopharma and PantheRx., without whom this conference would not be possible. Strongbridge Biopharma hosted an informative dinner for everyone on Friday evening, and attendees had a buffet dinner provided after Saturday's activities.
The strength of our conferences lies in our attendees and their willingness to share and interact with the doctors, fellow patients, and caregivers. The relaxed, family-style atmosphere gave people chances to establish or renew friendships and contacts while feeling safe, included, and understood. Several people also donated items for an auction that brought in upwards of $1,700!
Thank you to all who made it a success, and keep checking our web page for announcements of upcoming conferences!
